Now obviously, it could simply be me not being any good. But no! Sometimes, even while keeping my controller as flat as possible, I can get a bit of spin to the right or to the left, causing the shot to fail. "Not a massive deal"l I thought, "I can just get strikes by aiming at the center pin and orient my shot to come from an angle" I thought. But sometimes, out of nowhere, I get one shot with large amounts of spin. However, no matter how much I twist (45° or even close to 90°!), the amount of spin I get is minimal. I'm right handed so I prefer twisting to the left. Much more so than in the 2 Wii Sports games. However, I have found it to be very inconsistent here. Just like in Wii Sport and Wii Sport Resort, it is possible to input spin in the ball when throwing it by simply twisting the controller to the left or right. Not only that is different from Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, but it's also different from what the game itself tells me to do. So I'm acting on the Yaw instead of the Roll. However in my case I need to POINT the joycon to the right or left, instead of rolling it. The game's loading screen tells you to roll the joycon to the left or right to put spin in the ball. Here is what I mean : let's assume that the joycon is pointing straight at the screen. Indeed, I have found that in order to put spin in the ball, I must act on the Yaw axis of rotation of the joycon instead of the Roll axis. Wii Sports is included with some (but not all) Wii console bundles, and is also sold separately as part of the Nintendo Selects range, featuring great games at a great price.EDIT : So after more testing, I have found that the way to put spin in the ball is different from what I thought and from what the loading screen's hint tells.Play as your very own Mii as you work your way into the professional ranks and improve your skills.Control the action by making simple movements with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. But whether you’re an experienced pro in every sport or a newcomer to the field of play, Wii Sports is an experience that you’ll want to keep coming back to again and again! As players improve, their Miis' skill levels will increase, so that they can see exactly how much better they've become. Players can use their own Mii caricatures in the game and play them against their friends' Miis for a more personalised experience. When Boxing, using the Nunchuk controller as one glove and the Wii Remote as the other, players dodge, weave and punch their opponents. ![]() In Bowling, players raise the Wii Remote in their hand just like a bowling ball, and then swing their arms to roll the ball. In Golf you'll step up to the tee, hold the controller like a golf club and swing naturally to smack the ball onto the green. Baseball will have you gripping the controller like a bat and swatting fastballs out of the park in a home run derby. In Tennis, you'll grab the controller like a racket and swing – the game will register forehands, backhands, volleys, lobs, slices, spin and power depending on how fast you swing and at what angle. Wii Sports offers five distinct sports experiences, each using the Wii Remote to provide a natural, intuitive and realistic feel. Warm up and throw yourself into the action with the hit sports game that will have you hooked faster than you can swing a tennis racquet!
